TTR – Kingwood – CLOSED

Date Visited:  Sunday, September 2, 2012

So let’s start this out with a visit to the sister restaurant of two of our favorites, TTR – City Centre and Max’s Wine Dive Houston.

The view from the porch is excellent and layout is quiet but comfortable. Granted, we were here on a Sunday afternoon before Labor Day, so it was not crowded. Ample seating is available at the bar and at tables inside. There are quite a few tables on the patio for when the weather is cool enough.

We started with a nice glass of Pierre Joliet Brut and the shrimp and grits. The kitchen was nice enough to separate it onto two dishes. Excellent flavor, but the shrimp were a little over done. The addition of a poached egg however made up for it.

Next, Pam ordered a McDaniel Chardonnay from the open bottle special list and I had a St. Supery Sauvignon Blanc. We paired those with the crab claws which had a different twist. The crab claws had olives, artichoke hearts, tomatoes, capers and onions in a delicious marinade, and it was served cold. It was a very generous serving, with more than 20 crab claws…easily an appetizer for 4 people.

Overall, this is a great addition to the TTR group of wine bars. We will be back if in this area. Complements to Jason Endsley (General Manager) and Brian Evans (Chef).
