Coppa Ristorante Italiano – CLOSED

Date Visited:  Tuesday, January 15, 2013

Coppa has been on our To Do list for a long time, and finally we are giving it a shot!

We started with the Crispy Spiced Chickpeas. The fried chickpeas with just a hint of spice and herbs were great. Pam was especially impressed, and would love to carry a gallon home for snacking.

Next we moved on to the Pig Fritters. The coppa di testa fritters are served with housemade country mustard and vegetable pickles. I would get into greater detail but for those that know us, all I have to say is ‘Pork’ and ‘Fitter’….Mmmm, enough said.

For dinner, Jeff prdered the Coppa ‘Ham and Eggs’ Pizza. It was fantastic and combined the spicy air-dried, pork shoulder that was very flavorful with quail eggs. Overall, it was well executed.

Pam ordered the Pappardelle. It was a porcini flavored pasta served with braised brisket, topped with sugo and citrus gremolata. Pam enjoyed the combinations of flavors with the delicious sauce.

We ended the night with assorted Italian cookies, most of which we enjoyed at home the next day. They were good but once was enought, and we would try a different dessert next time.

Glad we finally made it in and we will be back to try more great food.
